Jumping Ahead-September 9

Just got back from the opening.  Pretty good turn out.  Positive reactions to the new work with a lot of nice comments.  I think I threw a few people off with the new work.  However I'm really happy with how the show came together and how it is presented in the gallery.

Alban the gallery manager worked (almost single handily) really hard to get this opening ready on time.

With that said here are a few photos of setting up the show and the opening night.
September 8-Adjusting the lights.
September 8-Alban hanging the grid.  One of my least favourite jobs.

September 9-Putting up a last minute poster at the art store.

Cheques are accepted a lot of places in France.  Here Alban is paying for lunch.
Bossman arrives.

Gallery all cleaned up.  That's Odö in the background signing 250 limited edition copies of the galleries annual catalog.  I shot this while lying on the couch.
Watercolours.
Watercolours.
So it begins.

Bossman Jérome Catz.
Alban and Carine.
Catherine and Gils, the owners of "Porteau Rose" the B&B I'm staying at.  I just missed a tender moment.  Oops.
Korine and friend.  Karine is a from France but speaks english with a British accent, which is a little odd I have to say.  She edits a local arts magazine, she interviewed me before the show.
This is Alexis.  He knows Quinn Starr from when Quinn lived in France and also knows Dylan Doubt (no surprise there).  Nice guy, added a little Vancouver flavour to the show.
This is Denise.  The other Frenchman who spoke english with a British accent.  He lived in the U.K. for 11 years.  He's really more British than French at this point in time.
The dude on the right is apparently a professor, the guy on the left is a photographer.  Names have totally escaped me.  Sorry.
Jérome and Alex.
Odö.
Me and Alban.  End of the show.
End of the night crew after a late dinner in Little Bayonne.
A few quick shots of historic Little Bayonne.  Which is about a 10 minute walk from where the gallery is located.

I always think I take more pictures than I do.  Tomorrow I'll take a few more photos of the work hanging.  Good night.
